Skin Tag Removal

before treatment
A skin tag is a small fibroma that appears either singularly or in multiple formation and is sometimes referred to as an achrochordon. They are commonly found on the neck, breasts and axillae, and are antagonised by constant friction from necklaces or shirt collars. They are more common in individuals over the age of 30 and can appear quite prolifically, causing understandable psychological stress.
Skin tags are also known to appear on the eyelids. They can become inflamed if they are repeatedly irritated through rubbing.
Cherry Angioma
A Cherry Angioma is painless and harmless, but many people find that they are unsightly and want them removed.
They are made up of clusters of dilated capillaries on the surface of the skin, which accounts for the cherry red or purplish colour. They can occur anywhere on the skin, but are most commonly found on the neck, face, chest or back.
Most Angiomas can be quickly removed using the Lam Probe, using a series of 'taps' to the effected area. Results are instant, leaving a small white patch of skin which will fade over a period of time.
Milias
Milias, or whiteheads as they are commonly known, are sebaceous lesions caused by a build up of oily secretions in the pores. They are often found on the facial area where there is poor skin exfoliation, such as under the eyes on the forehead and cheeks.. They can also occur during the healing of traumatic scars.
Pimples
These raised lesions are filled with pus and are common in acneic skin. Dirt, makeup and keratinized cells in the hair follicle plug the sebaceous duct, eventually leading to the rupture of the follicle into the upper layers of the dermis resutling in tissue inflamation. White blood cells rush to the area to protect the body and the resulting pus consists of dead bacteria, keratinised cells, free fatty acids and cholesterol.
Fibromas
Fibromas are benign tumours that are composed of fibrous or connective tissue. They appear as raised bumps on the skin, especially around the cheeks and orbital areas. As with skin tags, although harmless, they can cause stress and self-consciousness for the individual.
Lam Probe provides an effective removal of non-malignant fibromas. In more prolific cases, a series of treatments would be recommended.

Cholesterol Deposits
These are soft yellowish lumps usually found around the eye area.
They vary in size and can often be raised. Some individuals are predisposed to them.
As with most sebaceous lesions, unsightly cholesterol deposits can be quickly and gently removed using the Lamprobe procedure.
